What emotions are you feeling today? Can you identify more than one (2-3) emotion you are experiencing? How are your emotions impacting people you work with or people in your personal life?
Having a wide range of emotions makes us human. By correctly naming and noticing our feelings, without judgement, we can move past challenging situations and experiences and have clarity about what we want/like or don’t want/like.
After you have named your emotions and want to further explore those emotions ask yourself the following questions?
- Why do you feel the way you feel? What happened?
- What’s the impact of your feelings on your physical body and your interactions with others?
- What can be done or said differently next time? Or, who or what can help you move past this?
Naming, recognizing, and diving deeply into the cause of your feelings, regularly, gives you the chance to take a step back and make good choices about what to do with them.
